Josep Mª Serra, Puntuable Nacional Juvenil

On the other hand, the Nacional Puntuable Juvenil of the RFEG, held between February 17 and 18 at Hacienda Riquelme, registered an absolute success of participation and also offered a high level of sportsmanship for the young FCG players in general and one of our youth in particular, Josep Mª Serra, who although a few weeks earlier with 142 strokes took the Punctuable Juvenile Zone played in Golf Costa Dorada, on this occasion managed to stay in third position thanks to his regularity. After two days of 73 and 72 strokes, he ended up with +1 (145 strokes).

The good results led him to enter the call and be part of the male Working Group, the Technical Youth Committee of the RFEGR. The fifteen participants met last weekend in February at the Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid. It was the second concentration of the year, where the preparation for the season continued. They carried out specific and personalized technical work, as well as evolving in the tasks of distance control with wedges and carrying out a specific putt work. Congratulations!

It is a great pleasure to win, and we are very happy because it is the first tournament of the season,”said Xavi after Adrià closed with 62:” Playing with Adrià was very nice and it was great to learn side by side and do great things.

Two rounds of 63 and 61 were enough to finish with a good lead before the last day, although with some direct rivals relatively close, they knew that it would be necessary to play aggressively:”I had an idea what the winning score could be, because we shared a room with two previous champions,” explained Adrià,”so we kept a total in front of us and tried to make as many birdies as we could,” he said.

Finally, one eagle and three birdies on the nine exteriors, followed by four birdies on the way, led to a pair of 62 and a total of -28. Congratulations, champions!

Mireia Prat returns to Ladies European Tour in her seventh year as a professional

Mireia Prat returns to Ladies European Tour in her seventh year as a professional

The professional has competed in different events in her journey through the antipodes. The Ladies European Tour (LET) will have more tournaments than other years. “It looks like it’s getting better and they want to give us more support. It’s a good time to find that collaborator to help you face the season with more economic peace of mind,”Mireia tells us from Australia.

So our partner returned to the circuit, after recovering the card in 2017. And he did so by starting the season in Australia, where the season has started in recent years, even if it means being many miles from home. The LET kicked off at the Oates Vic Open, a tournament unique in the world where men and women compete on the same routes at the same time, also sharing the prize.

The Prat player overcame the first cut of the season at Canberra Classic, where she signed two laps of 75 and 70 strokes to earn her ticket to the final round held on Sunday 11 February at the Royal Canberra Golf Club, thus entering among the 51 best of the LET.

Then came the third of four trials in Australia, the Ladies Classic Bonville, where Mireia, despite not passing the court was able to enjoy the experience:”I have enjoyed competing on this course, which is a good test for any golfer. I have been able to see what things to keep working, as well as some improvements and positive aspects that encourage me to keep working and be patient. Everything comes “.

Before continuing, he finished the tour in the other side playing NSW Open at Coffs Harbour Golf. After a start with a lot of competition, it is time to continue working and growing to complete one more season, the seventh, at the top of European women’s golf.
